Katara Hospitality Provides Support to Shafallah Centre

, 24th November 2013

Having recently moved to offices in Lusail City, senior managers and employees of Katara Hospitality paid a first visit to the Shafallah Centre for Children with Special Needs.

The purpose of the visit was to learn more about the Centre and its activities by seeing at first hand the important work it conducts in providing educational, medical, rehabilitation, social, vocational and recreational services for children with intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders while meeting and engaging with children across different age groups.

Led by the Chief Executive Officer, the Katara Hospitality delegation spent time with the children, engaging in sports and entertainment activities. Beloved cartoon mascots livened up the ambience, in addition to a lunch treat in true hospitality spirit. The visit ended with a short speech delivered by Mr. Al Mulla and all children received gift bags with age appropriate educational toys to mark the moment.

Katara Hospitality CEO said the visit was only the first step in what he hoped would be a long and supportive relationship between the organisations.

“We have been moved, impressed and motivated today. We were moved by the wonderful children; it was a privilege to meet them and spend time and engage with them.  We were all impressed by the work of the Centre, by its modern facilities and its highly professional and committed staff.  And I speak for all the Katara Hospitality party when I say we were motivated to help further.

“My colleagues and I will continue to visit the Centre and that we will work with the management to find ways we can help to support the work of this vitally important facility.”
