H.E Mr. Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi serves as Chairman of the Board of Katara Hospitality as of July 2025, bringing to the role over two decades of expertise in global investment management and financial strategy.

Appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Investment Authority in November 2024, H.E Mr. Al-Sowaidi has played a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s international investment agenda. Prior to his current role, he served as QIA’s Chief Investment Officer for the Americas, where he oversaw the strategic expansion of the portfolio across key sectors.

Since joining QIA in 2010, H.E Mr. Al-Sowaidi has held several leadership positions, including Head of the Private Equity Funds, TMT, and Industrials teams. He also established and led QIA’s US Advisory office in New York, reinforcing QIA’s presence in the North American market.

Earlier in his career, H.E Mr. Al-Sowaidi was Director of Corporate Banking at Masraf Al-Rayan and began his professional journey at ExxonMobil in Qatar.

He holds an Executive MBA from the TRIUM Global Executive MBA Program and a Bachelor’s degree with a double major in Statistics and Finance from the University of Missouri, USA. He is also a CFA Charterholder.

With his extensive investment acumen and strategic vision, H.E Mr. Al-Sowaidi provides invaluable leadership to Katara Hospitality as it continues to expand its global footprint and enhance its portfolio of iconic hospitality assets.
