21st December 2015

 – An exhibition of cultural activities in celebration of Qatari heritage and the country’s national vision-

Employees from Katara Hospitality, the leading global hotel developer, owner and operator based in Qatar, commemorated Qatar’s National Day in colourful festivities held at their Doha headquarters.

To honour the occasion of National Day, Katara Hospitality showcased an exhibition under the theme “Celebration of Qatari Life.” The stunning visual display demonstrated the growth of the State of Qatar and the contemporary transition of hotels since the company’s inception in 1970, with numerous key milestones being highlighted from the last four decades.

Traditional Qatari cuisine was on offer and served with Arabic coffee in a Majlis setting. To add to the celebratory atmosphere and occasion, employees enjoyed activities synonymous with local culture including henna artistry, falconry and the aromas of traditional “bahkour”. A cake-cutting ceremony was held with the presence of General Managers of Katara Hospitality’s local properties further marked this occasion.

“It is an honour to celebrate the hard work, tireless dedication and uncompromising values that have inspired the continued growth and ongoing successes of our great nation of Qatar today,” said Chief Executive Officer of Katara Hospitality. “Katara Hospitality is elated to be a part of commemorations that highlight the rich history, cultural heritage and political, social and economic accomplishments that solidify Qatar’s strength as a nation,” he added.

Qatar National Day, also known as Founder’s Day, pays homage to the rise of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, the nation’s esteemed founder, whose vision and efforts to unify the tribes of the peninsula into one people in 1878, have motivated the present day overall socio-economic growth and national unity of the Qataris.
