Chief Operating Officer
Andrew Humphries holds the position of Chief Operating Officer since 2016.
A professional of the luxury hospitality business, Humphries’ career has been spent with some of the world’s best known hotels including The Savoy and Athanaeum hotels in London, Royal Pavilion and Glitter Bay Resorts in Barbados and most recently with Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi where he held the position of Regional VP and General Manager.
Prior to his time in Abu Dhabi, Humphries spent over sixteen years with Four Seasons, where he held the position of Regional VP and GM of the Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies and prior to that, as Regional VP and GM of the Four Seasons Hotel Amman, Jordan.
A graduate of Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom, he advanced his professional education at the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in the General Manager’s Program.
Kamal joined Katara Hospitality in September 2013 having previously worked as a lawyer at a leading international law firm. Kamal has extensive experience in acquisitions and disposals of companies and real estate assets in Europe and the MENA region having advised major international corporate clients, institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds.
Kamal holds several law degrees from the Sorbonne University and has been a lawyer admitted to the Paris Bar since 2005.
Kamal is heading the Legal Department and supervises the legal work of the Katara Hospitality Group.
Chief Asset Management Officer
Irfan is currently the Chief Asset Management Officer in Katara Hospitality, previously he held the position of Chief Strategy & Development Officer in the company. Irfan joined Katara Hospitality after serving (7) years in Marriott International/ Starwood Hotels and Resorts; his last position was Area Director of Finance for Gulf, Levant and Pakistan Region. Prior to that, Irfan was the Regional Director of Finance for Starwood Hotels and Resorts for Africa and Indian Ocean Region. Additionally, he has worked with Hyatt Hotels Corporation in multiple properties and corporate roles in USA and the Middle East.
A Chicago native and a national of the USA, Irfan received his Bachelors in Business Administration from Robert Morris University and MBA in International Hospitality and Service Industries Management with Asset and Revenue Management Specialization from Glion Institute of Higher Education.
