Katara Hospitality donates 5-star luxurious hotel furniture to Qatar Charity

Katara Hospitality, the leading hotel owner, developer and operator based in Qatar, announced today that a selection of luxurious hotel furniture items will be donated to Qatar Charity. The donation is part of Katara Hospitality’s ongoing commitment to supporting communities and the underprivileged members of society, through an integrated approach to corporate social responsibility.

 

Qatar Charity, a leading Gulf-origin non-governmental organisation dedicated to carrying out humanitarian and development programs which foster hope for the more vulnerable families of Qatar’s communities, is a well deserving recipient of the furniture donation following the refurbishment of one of Doha’s most elegant hotel properties; The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.

 

“As Qatar’s flagship hospitality organisation, we remain committed to partaking in initiatives that foster the development of our society through our corporate social responsibility programs. Qatar Charity plays a vital role in supporting our ongoing efforts as one of our partners for addressing charity-related issues,” said His Excellency Sheikh Nawaf Bin Jassim Bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of Katara Hospitality.

 

The donation included over 2,000 furniture items comprising of sofas, benches and upholstered chairs, coffee tables, lamps, bed sets, headboards, drapery and curtaining, wall hangings and table fixtures.

 

Mr. Youssef Ahmed Al Kuwari, Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Charity stated: “Katara Hospitality has supported Qatar Charity through donations for several years, with the company’s management and staff constantly taking a proactive approach to supporting the underprivileged members of our local community. We are very grateful for this generous contribution as well as the ongoing efforts to improve the community through various projects.”

 

“Synergies benefitting underprivileged societies’ have existed between Katara Hospitality and Qatar Charity for several years,” said Chief Executive Officer of Katara Hospitality. “In addition, Katara Hospitality’s employees support Qatar Charity’s TAYF initiative, a charity program that involves in-kind donations of items for the benefit of the less fortunate members of society.” He added.

 

In the past, The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, in cooperation with Katara Hospitality and Fortessa Inc., donated 10,000 pieces of chinaware to Qatar Charity. Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel has also in recent years, donated furniture items from the hotel’s renovation and refurbishment to Qatar Charity.

 

Through an array of community engagement activities which have resulted in efforts that contribute to the welfare of families and individuals in Qatar, as well as exercises that promote environmental sustainability and enhance conservation of energy and water resources, Qatar’s flagship hospitality organisation works with relevant stakeholders and charitable organisations to facilitate initiatives which benefit communities in countries which the company operates.
