Katara Hospitality Announces Major Renovation of Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel

, 4th March 2014

Katara Hospitality announced today that a major renovation and refurbishment of Doha’s most iconic hotel, the Sheraton Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, will commence on Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

The hotel’s Dafna Hall will remain in operation until April 4, 2014 and events currently booked at the venue will be hosted as planned.

Aiming to modernise the property and its facilities, the investment will see the full renovation of all guest rooms, public areas, recreation facilities and the conference and meetings space.  The hotel’s food and beverage offer will also be enhanced.

When it reopens, the newly renovated property will reflect perfectly the synergy between the striking 1970’s architecture of one of Doha’s most recognised landmarks, with all the style and functionality that is expected of a leading 21st century luxury hotel.

A spokesperson from Katara Hospitality said: “This is a strategic decision for enhancing the offering of one of Doha’s most relevant hospitality venues. When the Sheraton Doha re-opens in December 2014, it will strengthen its position as Doha’s most iconic property, with the highest standards of luxurious and modern facilities in all aspects of its operations.”

Katara Hospitality said that all customers with room, food and beverage, or event bookings would be offered alternative options at one of the company’s other Doha properties. The reservations department at the Sheraton Doha are contacting customers from today to discuss these options. Alternatively, customers can contact the hotel at sheraton.doha@sheraton.com for further information.
